Full Description
1944 & 1967. RAF and Ordnance Survey air photography.
A probable medieval saltern is visible as an earthwork and soilmark at TF 6378 2588, northwest of North Wootton.
The mound is one of a large group in this area and was apparently incorporated into a later sea defence, its southern side being overlain by a sea bank.
See NMP plot (S1) in file.
