April 2001. Desk-based Assessment.
There are prehistoric and Roman sites nearby, but the location of Pirnhow Hall (NHER 10643) remains uncertain.

February 2002. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of new residential dwellings. Contexts 1 to 12.
Sequence of depositsand features observed, interpreted as natuarally formed soil build ups, cut by post-medieval structural features. No evidence of the hall.
