Summary

Aerial photographs taken in 1948 and 1966 show the earthwork of a possible medieval saltern mound. It is one of a large number in the area. However, the feature could just be accumulated ditch clearance debris.

1948 & 1966. RAF and Ordnance Survey air photography.
A possible medieval saltern is visible as an earthwork at TF 6342 2547, northwest of North Wootton.
However, the presence of a former marsh channel just to the west may indicate that this feature is merely accumulated ditch clearance debris.
