Late post medieval sea defences and a breakwater (NHER 36876) are recorded on (S1), enclosing an area from TF 647 289 south west to TF 612 243, on Wootton Marshes.
The embanking seems to consist of a number of episodes and at least one (at TF 615 264) has failed by 1944.
