1940 and 1944. RAF air photography.
A possible World War Two searchlight site is visible in 1940 at TF 6311 2722, just north of Estuary Farm, comprising two circular emplacements, a probable light anti-aircraft emplacements and huts.
Its subsequent history is not clear, but a pillbox is visible in the remains of one of the emplacements in 1944.
