April 2002. Excavation.
Excavation of site on course of Anglian Water North Pickenham to West Bradenham Supply Main pipeline. This site was selected for excavation due to the Roman and Saxon finds that had previously been recovered in the vicinity.
The excavation identified pits, linear features and post holes, with a curvilinear gully representing a possible enclosure. Many of the pits were well-defined, flat-bottomed, circular in shape and contained domestic refuse in the form of pottery and burnt debris. Most activity was dated to the Early Neolithic and Iron Age periods.
