Summary

Metal detectorists have found prehistoric, Roman, Saxon, medieval and post medieval artefacts. They include Neolithic scrapers, Roman coins, pottery and metalwork, part of an Early Saxon brooch, a Late Saxon brooch and pin, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon and medieval pottery and medieval coins (including a Scottish example). Fieldwalking in 2003 identified a scatter of what were probably medieval pottery sherds. Other finds recovered included potentially prehistoric burnt flints, prehistoric worked flints and possible Iron Age pottery sherds.
