Summary

Metal detecting and fieldwalking at this location between 2002 and 2024 recovered Neolithic to Bronze Age worked flints; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a fragment of undated iron slag and a number of Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a fragment of a Middle/Late Bronze Age bladed implement; a Roman iron slide key; a Late Saxon strap end; a medieval strap end, swivel, copper alloy seal matrix and unidentified copper alloy object; a potentially medieval lead pot mend; a medieval/post-medieval sword scabbard chape and cauldron foot and a post-medieval lead Dutch customs alnage seal.
