Summary

A small underground nuclear bunker lies underneath the telephone exchange at Laughing Image Corner. The bunker was designed to be a communications centre in the event of a nuclear war.

Beneath the telephone exchange constructed in 1978, on the site of houses, is a room intended as a 'secret basement' or communications centre in the event of nuclear war. Believed now to be used for general storage.
