Summary

Archaeological observations were carried out in 2002 during the provision of a loading ramp at the supermarket. To the southwest of the ramp area the upstanding walls of a World War Two air raid shelter were visible and a medieval/post medieval pit was found cut into the chalky ground surface to the southeast.
