Map

January 2001. NMP.
Adjacent to a group of Nissen huts (NHER 26778), a gun emplacement can be seen on 1945 aerial photographs (S1) as an earthwork at TF 7719 4518. It can also be seen on 1946 aerial photographs (S2) and was presumably part of the complex of World War Two defensive features which can be found in this area. Just over 5m southwest of this emplacemnent is a small rectangular structure, probably a military structure, and possibly a pillbox - it is not very clear on the aerial photographs. Again this seems to be part of the World War Two defences in this area.
A. Hunt (NMP), 29 January 2001.
