Map

January 2001. NMP.
A long, winding stretch of minefield is visible on 1945 aerial photographs (S1) between TF 750 443 and TF 764 446. The minefield is located on the south side of a channel and it follows the course of the channel until it reaches the sea bank at the TF 764 446. The minefield is not totally continuous, there are a number of gaps along its length. It will have been part of the World War Two coastal defences in this area.
Earthworks of the minefield are still clearly visible to the south of the channel in 1972 aerial photographs (S2).
A. Hunt (NMP), 26 January 2001.
