Map

February 2001. NMP.
A circular earthwork is visible at TF 6907 4267 on the 1944 aerial photographs (S1). It is approximately 12m in diameter, with a central depression and a surrounding bank. The feature is also visible on 1972 aerial photographs (S2). It is possibly a World War Two gun emplacement, but it is unusual that it stands alone. If it is a gun emplacement, then it may have formed part of the coastal defences of this area and may have been an additional defence, should the tank trap (NHER 26707) be breached.
A. Hunt (NMP), 5 February 2001.
