Map

January 2001. NMP.
A minefield is visible on the 1945 aerial photographs (S1) as an earthwork, running from TF 7034 4425 to TF 7106 4441. It is located next to a section of a tank trap feature (NHER 26748), running along the southern side of of the channel, with a small section of minefield to the north of the channel at TF 704 442. In this case the minefield appears to be acting as an additional component of the World War Two coastal defences in this area. The western end of the minefield can also be seen on 1944 aerial photographs (S2). Faint traces of the earthworks of the section of the minefield north of the tank trap can still be seen on a 1971 aerial photographs (S3).
