Map

July 2002. Norfolk NMP.
A site consisting of several linear features on the on the drained saltmarsh is visible on Hunting Survey photographs from 1969 (S1) and NLA oblique aerial photographs from 1973 (S2). These are likely to post medieval in date and relate to the division and drainage of the marsh. The features were mapped from Hunting Survey vertical photography from 1969 and NLA oblique aerial photographs from 1973. The main southern linear runs from TF 8159 4439 to TF 8158 4472. Two secondary features run up to this from the west. These linears are consistent with field boundaries marked on the Ordnance Survey 1902-07 2nd map (25 inch) (S3). Another linear runs roughly east to west from TF 8185 4471 to TF 8166 4472. This appears to be cut by one of the main creeks which comes into Deepdale Marsh.
S. Massey (NMP), 16 July 2002.
