Map

September 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Group of three ditched linear features located on Hunstanton golf course, visible on NMR oblique aerial photographs from 2000 (S1). One runs from TF 6969 4389 to TF 6974 4391 and is 44m long 2m wide. To the east of the site is another, 30m long and approximately 0.5m wide, from TF 6978 4397 to TF 6980 4394. In between these two linears is a third group, running from TF 6976 4391 to TF 6977 4395. The main ditch is L-shaped with another abutting ditch to the east. The date and origin of these features is unknown, it is possible that they are medieval to post medieval features that pre-date the golf course, or they may be drainage for the golf course. A third possibility is that they are part of the World War Two date activity that sits within the golf course.
S. Massey (NMP), 17 September 2002.
