Map

September 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Earthwork L-shaped ditch running from TF 6966 4348 to TF 6967 4373, visible on 1944 RAF aerial photographs (S1). It is between 1-2m wide and is crossed by another linear ditch at TF 6964 4367. To the south west of this feature are two much shorter and narrower parallel ditches. It is possible that this feature is related to the parallel bank to the immediate west (NHER 26719), which is thought to be post medieval in date. It may be that this is also true of this earthwork. It may represent an earlier field boundary or drain and it is interesting to note that its southern course follows part of the Hunstanton/Holme parish boundary.
S. Massey (NMP), 17 September 2002.
