Summary

A timber framed house, now much altered, but originally dating to the 17th century or earlier. The house seems to have been inserted into an earlier street frontage. Its height was raised in about 1700, although it probably retains its original chimney stack. In the 19th century the building was clad in brick, extended and given larger grounds. Buildings in the grounds include a 19th century bowling pavillion and a row of sheds.
