Map

Summer 2002.
Utilised thermal flake: fragment from a large 'pot lid' (thermal flake, probably by freeze/thaw conditions) of great antiquity, as shown by heavy, brown stained patina. Subsequent to the formation of the patina, the pointed end has been damaged, exposing the underlying black flint, probably by use as a borer or reamer. The date of this possible use is not determinable.
K. Hinds (NLA), 16 October 2002.
