Summary

Metal detecting in 2002 recovered an Early Saxon brooch fragment. A fieldwalking and metal-detecting survey of part of this field in 2008 recovered a post-medieval coin and a number of other post-medieval metal objects including a drawer handle, a button, a lead musket ball and a lead guano tag.

Early Saxon copper alloy fragment of cruciform brooch, ancient break, worn and corroded foot only with round projecting eyes, recessed and slightly expanded muzzle, broken catch-plate on reverse, 14 x (at least) 42mm. See (S1).

March-April 2008. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey. Site extended to whole field.
Field survey on proposed route of Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection (Field 49).
Finds recovered included:
1 post-medieval coin, 1 drawer handle, 1 button, 1 lead musket ball and 1 lead guano tag.
1 undatable copper alloy knob with wood insert, 2 lead waste fragments and 1 copper alloy sheet fragment.
