Map

Barn, dated as 17th century with original stone threshing floor, walls rebuilt 20th century.
Milking shed 18th century timber frame.
Tack room 19th century.
See (S1) in file.
E. Rose (NLA), 5 February 2003.

(S2) in file in 1986 noted the unusual feature of two barns on one small farm: one timber framed but rebuilt in brick by German prisoners of war around 1940; and one of clay lump but dating to before 1840. Also a stable leading to a sunken horse yard. Possibly some of these were demolished before (S1). Farmhouse stated to be mid 19th century with traces of older building. Farmer quoted as wondering whether the 'trench' in the site name was part of a moat, but map evidence including (S3) indicates that it is the boundary ditch of Park Common.
E. Rose (NLA), 25 September 2006.
