Summary

Metal detecting recovered a medieval shield-shaped copper alloy gilt horse harness pendant. The pendant depicts an enamel coat of arms, probably those of Warenne, Earls of Surrey.

1 medieval copper alloy gilt harness pendant (shield-shaped, suspension-loop broken, enamel and much of surface of metal missing. Blazon: Checky Or and [?Azure]. Although the enamel is missing the arms represented here are most likely to be those of Warenne, Earls of Surrey (and therefore the missing enamel would have been blue)).
