Summary

Metal-detecting at this location in 2003 and between 2022 and 2024 recovered Roman coins and a range of other metal objects, including a probable Iron Age/Roman miniature axehead; a Roman partly-gilded silver unidentified object fragment; a Roman to medieval lead spindle whorl; an Early Saxon cruciform brooch fragment; a Middle/Late Saxon hooked tag; a probable Saxon looped strap fitting and a medieval strap end, strap end or buckle plate, lead ampullas, lead suspension weight and iron key and a medieval/post-medieval book fitting and copper alloy vessel fragment.
