Summary

Granary Cottage and Court, east of and adjoining the Bishop's Gate in Cathedral Close, is a former barn, now converted into an office and flat. It originated in the medieval period, although it has been repeatedly altered in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The building itself is constructed of flint with stone dressings, and has a plain and pantile roof. In 1991 a well was discovered on this site, perhaps as early as the 17th century, though probably dating to the 18th or 19th centuries.
