Map

August 1987. Casual Find.
A metal object (S1) was found in the centre of a gas main trench at a depth of 0.75m.
The trench was located adjacent to earlier watermain work.
The object was initially identified by V. Williams (NAU) as a 17th or 18th century button, but it has also been suggested that it may be a medieval English jetton (c. 1280-1345).
See drawing and notes in file.
