Summary

A terrace of three early 19th century three storey red brick houses with a pantile roof. A watching brief between 2010 and 2011 revealed reused timbers and bricks from a previous post-medieval structure and worked stone blocks of late medieval to early post-medieval date.

November 2010-March 2011. Watching Brief.
During internal works at No. 61 a small number of reused oak timbers were exposed, which included a base plate from a stud wall or window assembly, and also a large number of bricks recycled from a previous post-medieval structure. Two worked stone blocks of possible late medieval to early post-medieval date were observed in the foundation fabric and could be the remains of a limestone door jamb and a chalk block.
