November 2010-March 2011. Watching Brief.
During internal works at No. 61 a small number of reused oak timbers were exposed, which included a base plate from a stud wall or window assembly, and also a large number of bricks recycled from a previous post-medieval structure. Two worked stone blocks of possible late medieval to early post-medieval date were observed in the foundation fabric and could be the remains of a limestone door jamb and a chalk block.
See report (S3) for further details.
S. Howard (HES), 7 September 2011.
