Summary

The earthworks of possible post medieval water meadows were noted on aerial photographs and during a site visit to this location in 2001. The suggested water meadow system extends westwards into Suffolk, where it is recorded as SHER BNH 116. A more recent survey of aerial photographs and lidar failed to identify features typical of water meadows in this area, although some earthworks possibly related to water management were noted.

The area of earthworks relating to possible post medieval water meadows described above was not identified by the survey. Although some earthwork features possibly related to water management were identified, these did not conform to the pattern typical of water meadow sites. As a consequence, no features were mapped at this site. In Suffolk, the suggested water meadows are recorded as SHER BNH 116.
