Map

September 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The ring ditch appears to be continuous, with no break or entrance, and has a maximum diameter of 19m (S1). Within the interior of the feature are two straight linear ditches aligned in an approximate north to south direction. The purpose of the feature is unknown. The feature was constructed on the intertidal saltmarsh amongst saltmarsh channels, in between December 1944 (S2) and May 1946. The site looks fresh in May 1946 (S1) although there is no worn track or pathway visible running to the site. The site may be a late World War Two military feature, or relating to the use of the area as a bombing range, although it appears isolated at this location. The feature may have no military connection at all.
M. Brennand (NMP), 30 September 20.
