Civil Parish TERRINGTON ST CLEMENT, WEST NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Map

December 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The features appear as two separate sub-rounded areas of lighter coloured or parched crop (S1), although they may have originally been all one site. The northernmost feature has a diameter of 30m, while the southern feature has a diameter of 21m. The mounds are part of a group of sparsely distributed mounds within this area, that were presumably once positioned on the edges of saltmarsh channels. The position of the mounds, to the seaward side of the Sea Bank (NHER 2187), might suggest a post Saxon/medieval date but an earlier date cannot be ruled out.
M. Brennand (NMP), 18 December 2002.
