Map

January 2003. Norfolk NMP.
The westernmost feature has an irregular, horseshoe shape in plan with a north to south length of 100m and a width of 80m. The easternmost feature is semi linear in plan with irregular to sub-rounded edges. The feature has an east to west length of 70m and a width of 27m. The features have a light-coloured, parched appearance and also appear to have some height (S1), suggesting they are saltern mounds. They may equally represent the site of a former channel or roddon, rather than a salt production site. The farm, to the immediate west, also appears to be situated on a raised mound (S1), which may also represent a former saltern site. The features are situated to the north of the Sea Bank (NHER 2187) and are likely to be post-Saxon or medieval in date, although an earlier or Post-medieval date cannot be ruled out.
M. Brennand (NMP), 3 January 2003.
