Map

April 2003. Norfolk NMP.
The feature is visible for a length of 1.1 km, aligned in an approximate northwest to southeast direction (S1). The bank runs southward from the junction of bank NHER 27207 and the mid point of bank NHER 27079 to the edge of the canalised Great Ouse channel (NHER 13532). The bank appears to supersede the southern element of the bank 27079, enclosing an approximately triangular area of land between the bank 27079 and the river. The feature is depicted on Faden’s map of 1797 (S2) and a late 18th century date for this feature is probable.
M. Brennand (NMP), 30 April 2003.
