Map

June 2003. Norfolk NMP.
The southernmost feature is irregular to sub-rounded in plan, with a north to south length of 23m (S1). This may be the remnants of a medieval saltern mound, but may equally be a spoil heap from some other activity. To the immediate north is a more regular, linear mound or platform (S1), aligned with its long axis in an east to west direction. The feature actually appears as three distinct entities, as there are two narrow north to south gaps between the features. On less clear 1943 images (S2) this area appears disturbed, and these features may actually date from that time, although it is suggested that this is not the case. The northerly mound appears as some sort of platform, although it is not clear whether this ever supported a building or not.
M. Brennand (NMP), 24 June 2003.
