Summary

Metal detecting and field walking before 1988 recovered some Roman metal working debris, a possible palette or whetstone, and pottery sherds from the Roman, Saxon and medieval periods.

Roman rim sherd, lead waste and part of stone palette or hone.
Two Ipswich ware sherds.
Possible Late Saxon sherds, very worn.
Medieval rim sherd, greenglazed body sherd.
Late medieval or transition period sherd.
Identified by T. Gregory (NAU) and W. Milligan (NCM).
