Map

July 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The feature is sub rectangular in plan, visible as light coloured soil or parch mark (S1). The feature has an east to west length of 20m and width of 14m. The feature is surrounded by a relatively wide ditch, and there is a fragment of an outer bank on the western side of the ditch.

The site is located on the western side of bank NHER 26611, and on the eastern side of Boathouse Creek. The feature may represent a relatively small saltern mound, or a small embanked platform for a structure building. This may have taken the form of an agricultural structure such as a stack base or barn, or even a building related to fishing or shooting. It is suggested that this is the site of a post medieval structure of unknown form and function, post dating the bank NHER 26611, although an earlier date cannot be ruled out.
M. Brennand (NMP), 11 July 2003.
