Map

August 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Two buildings of unknown origin can be seen on 1945 RAF aerial photographs (S1). It is possible that they have a military (World War Two) origin (there is a minefield, military camp and training area located along the coast to the north). These buildings are located to the south of the southern coastal lagoon at Snettisham, at NGR. TF6489 3026 and TF6489 3028, and in size appear to be around 4m by 3m and 6m by 3m respectively.
H. Clare (NMP), 22 August 2002.

May-November 2004. Norfolk Rapid Coastal Zone Archaeological Survey.
Inter-tidal survey (Environmental Zone 3), Context 1006:
Situated within the saltmarsh at TF 64898 30282.
Steel and timber pontoon base for a wild-fowlers hut, measuring 5.50m by 1.76m.
Two buildings identified as wildfowlers huts seen on survey, one matches NMP grid reference, one doesn't.
Other building (wild-fowlers hut) seen by NMP may or may not be context 856 (NHER 41416).
See assessment report (S2) for further details.
The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2017.421).
J. Allen (NLA), 13 April 2005. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 21 July 2019.
