Map

April 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The major feature is a 150m long east to west aligned parchmark (TF 7790 4070 to 7805 4073) with linear protrusions running off at right angles to the north and south, forming a rough cross shape (S1). There are a further two, more narrow, north to south aligned features to the east. These are likely to represent levelled banks or field boundaries, and may not be of any great antiquity.
A large rectangular pit like feature (TF 77895 40661), with a length of 43m and a width of 33m, may represent a geologically natural sinkhole, but it its sides are extremely regular and it may equally represent an extraction pit or may have been re-modelled to act as a pond.
M. Brennand (NMP), 16 April 2002.
