Summary

A pair of World War Two pillboxes visible on 1946 RAF vertical aerial photographs.

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Location

Map sheet TF84NE
Civil Parish HOLKHAM, NORTH NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Map

July 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The structures are 21m apart and appear to be located within the beach scaffold NHER 36846 (S1), and were presumably part of the wider system of fortifications intended to protect the bay and approach to Holkham. The structures are not visible on later images, and are presumably either destroyed or obscured by sand and vegetation.

M. Brennand (NMP), July 2002.
