Summary

A systematic fieldwalking and metal-detecting survey undertaken in 2004 recorded a large quantity of prehistoric struck flint including cores, knives, blades, scrapers, and piercers as well as one Iron Age pottery sherd, a small quantity of medieval pottery and post-medieval pottery, a 16th century jetton, a post-medieval silver coin, and other post-medieval metalwork.

The flint collected from this site most likely dates to the later prehistoric period (Later Neolithic to Iron Age), but the form of some tools suggest a later Neolithic to Bronze Age date.
Finds included:
161 prehistoric struck flints, including 3 cores, 3 knives, 6 blades, 6 scrapers, and 4 piercers.
8 burnt flint fragments.
1 Iron Age pottery sherd
6 medieval pottery sherds.
2 medieval to post-medieval pottery sherds.
4 post-medieval pottery sherds and 4 fragments ceramic building material.
1 16th-century jetton
1 silver post-medieval coin, 1 furniture fitting, 1 buckle
Undated metal objects
25 objects of non-archaeological value.
