Full Description
February 2004, Norfolk NMP
Post medieval drainage ditches and possible water meadows are visible as earthworks on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1). The features can be divided into three groups. In the north are six parallel ditches aligned northeast to southwest and centred on TG 3548 2648. The second group comprises three northwest to southeast aligned ditches centred on TG 3543 2640 and a northeast to southwest aligned ditch between TG 3544 2633 and TG 3550 2638. The third part of the group, centred on TG 3559 2635, comprised pattern of ditches forming field boundaries, which are shown on the second edition Ordnance Survey map (25 inch, 1902-1907) (S2). An earthwork bank was aligned parallel to one of these ditches between TG 3559 2629 and TG 3561 2633.
(S1 to 2).
