Summary

Linear and curvilinear ditches of probable post medieval date are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. They are likely to be field boundaries and drainage ditches, although it is possible that at least some of them are associated with the Iron Age to Roman site to their east (NHER 38463).

Map

January 2004, Norfolk NMP
A number of linear and curvilinear ditches are visible as cropmarks on NLA oblique aerial photographs from 1992 (S1), centred around TG 2003 3546. It seems most likely that they represent post medieval field boundaries and/or drainage features, since most follow an approximate north to south alignment, parallel or at right angles to modern field boundaries. It is possible that some of the features, however, are associated with the Iron Age to Roman site to their east and north (NHER 38463). The westernmost group of ditches (centred at TG 1994 3546) lies within an area of former woodland (S2).
