Summary

Two cow limb bones were found during works to deepen a pond in 2003. One of the bones had numerous cut marks on it.

Two cow limb bones found at depth of about 3m (10 feet) in dark peaty soil below base of a pit excavated for wildlife in late 1980s. Base of pit lowered August 2003 because of absence of water to reveal the bones.
One bone has numerous fine diagonal and transverse cut marks throughout its length.
Bones a dull dark grey colour and appear ancient.
