Summary

Fieldwalking along the Wendling/Fransham boundary in 1996 recovered three sherds of medieval pottery. However, despite the fact that this area formed the east edge of Great Fransham High Green no evidence for medieval occupation was found on the Wendling side of the common. Subsequent metal detecting here in 2005 found a single post medieval coin and two sherds of Roman pottery.
