Map

March 2004, Norfolk NMP.
The soilmarks of a possible structure or small enclosure of unknown, but potential medieval to post medieval date, is visible on aerial photographs from 1946 (S1). This may have been an old agricultural building. The centre of the site is TG 0910 4262. At the western end of the site are the soilmarks of a possible square structure at TG 0961 4263, measuring approximately 14m across. The soilmarks would suggest that it is the ploughed out remains of either a banked enclosure or walled structure. Also visible on the aerial photographs is a ploughed out linear showing in a similar manner. Reference to the 2nd edition 25 inch OS map (1902-7) (S2) would indicate that this is the line of a removed field boundary. Several other soilmarks are visible centred on TG 0915 4264. These are all generally angular or oblong in shape and range in size from 2m across to up to 9m. The nature of these is uncertain and they may not be archaeological in origin.
S. Massey (NMP), 08 March 2004.
