Woodrising Wood:
Apart from the south boundary, the bank and ditches surrounding the wood appear convincing wood banks of early medieval date.
The northernmost is the best preserved.
A fine north to south internal bank and ditch is also likely to be contemporary.
Various small regular depressions look to be modern whilst more irregular larger ones may be in part natural and or extraction pits.
See report (S1) for further information, including detailed descriptions of the individual features identified (Contexts 1-13). The results of this survey are also summarised in (S2).
