Summary

Metal-detecting in 2003 and 2015 recovered a Neolithic/Bronze Age flint knife; Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds and a medieval strap-end. The large number of Roman pottery sherds was recovered from a discreet area and could suggest pottery production on the site.

July/August 2003. Metal detecting.
Medieval copper alloy composite three part strap end, circular with (bent) falring upper part. Broken scalloped attachment end pierced by two rivet holes, one with copper alloy rivet. Undecorated front and back plates and forked spacer with acorn knop. 24mm x 46mm. Compare with a similar form of spacer in (S1).

July-September 2015. Metal-detecting. Site extended to north-eastern third of field. [1].
Neolithic/Bronze Age knife.
337 Roman pottery sherds recovered from an approximately 20m area. They may therefore suggest pottery production on the site.
3 medieval pottery sherds.
1 post-medieval pottery sherd.
