July 2003. Metal detecting.
Medieval lead seal matrix, flat with bent lug near upper edge on reverse. Shield-shaped, 23 x 26mm. Face blank (this appears to be an unengraved and unfinished seal matrix. However, only three shield shaped matrices have been recorded from the county since 1996 (Rogerson and Ashley, forthcoming), all of which are copper alloy. CAST.
