Summary

Nos 9 and 10 are thought to have been built in 1616, following the fire of Wymondham, originally as a house. They are currently a pair of shops, timber-framed and two storeys high, with a dormer attic and a black glazed pantile roof. The building was opened out in the 19th century, and the upper floor raised.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Pair of shops in one range. Early 17th century, probably 1616. Timber-framed. Roof of black glazed pantiles. Two storeys and dormer attic. 20th-century shop fronts. First floor rendered, colourwashed, and lit through four early 19th-century two-light casements. Gabled roof with two tall dormers to right and a small flat-topped dormer to left. Ridge stack left of centre."

May 2002. Field Observation.
All opened out in 19th century and upper floor raised. Wallplate of rear wall of street range visible with some studs below and above, the latter probably marking a heightening.
