Summary

This house was built around 1830 and extended in 1999. It is of red brick in both English and Flemish bond and has a slate roof. There are Y-tracery casements to the right and left ground floor and first floor, as well as a verandah at the first floor with circular posts. It is one of only a few northeast Norfolk examples of an eclectic house of around 1830 combining Italianate, Gothick and cottage ornee styles on lobby entrance plan, probably derived from pattern books. It was constructed by the Diocese as a sexton's house.

"House, built around 1830, extended 1999.
Red brick in both English and Flemish bond; slate roof. Originally two bays two storeys, porch to east with arched door. Y-tracery casements right and left; verandah at first floor on circular posts. Two similar first floor windows with extra tracery, eaves project."

The Listing description (S1) notes that this house in one of only a few examples of the eclectic style in northeast Norfolk. However, is it worth noting that other examples of this style of house are extant in the county.[1]
