Summary

A shop and dance hall, dating to about 1830, with late 19th century and 20th century alterations. The main façade of the building is decorated with Corinthian pilasters, and has a late 19th century arched entrance with strapwork decoration. In the 1950s the building was used as a dance hall, and a sprung dance floor was inserted. The building curves round into Market Row, and includes two 'Row' cottages, which have survived almost unaltered.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Shop and club, formerly in separate occupation. c.1830, re-modelled late 19th century, altered 20th century. Red brick with a stucco façade. Slate roof.
EXTERIOR: three storeys; five-window range. Early 20th-century plate-glass shop front returning into Market Row under a fascia board which continues through entire width of facade. Above are three central bays divided by engaged columns and closed by two pilasters, all without capitals…Gabled roof with one stack on front slope. To the right the façade curves into Market Row and includes Nos 1 and 2...To the left of the elevation is an additional two-storey bay...The ground floor has a late 19th-century façade comprising an arched entrance with strapwork decoration, two bays of canted glazing left and three to the right.
INTERIOR: No.29 with a sprung dance floor inserted in 1950s. Late 19th-century staircase...No.30 has a 20th-century open ground-floor showroom. First floor of both properties now forms one contiguous showroom. At the south end (No.30) is an area of plaster ceiling formed of geometric patterns, defining the extent of a former room."

1950s sprung dance floor mentioned in (S1) is gone.
Great Yarmouth council add: the building includes 2 Row Cottages in Row 46 which are almost unaltered.
Complex is important.
