Full Description
This house is listed by English Heritage as 17th century, although it has since been extensively altered. The barn is also listed and is a four stead red brick thatched threshing barn with pilasters dated to the 18th century.
Information from (S1), but see below.
October 1992. Building Survey.
The house was inspected after the interior had been gutted. Very few features pre-dating a 1952 renovation could be identified. The ceiling beams, though possibly 17th century, are very crude and may well have been reused from a structure such as a barn or stable. See (S2) in file.
NB - The buildings are not included in the 1992 paper version of the List of Buildings of Historical and Architectural Interest. This was likely a printing error as the house remains listed.
E. Rose (NLA) 5 May 2004.
